- ➤ A local veteran received a tiny home and its property from a law firm and local high school students who built the home under the guidance of volunteer trade professionals — the project supports a strong community for veterans. KSNV
- ➤ Glittering Lights celebrated 25 years by honoring 25 hometown heroes with a $250 donation to each recipient’s chosen charity—teachers, nurses, neighbors, coaches, and first responders were recognized, and the event opened the 2025 season with a Terry Fator performance, fireworks, and a visit from Santa Claus. - ➤ The Together Coat Drive, organized by News 3, is underway to help children without winter coats — donations of new or gently used coats, jackets, or hoodies can be dropped off at any Southern Nevada Toyota dealer through the first week of December. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Clark County School District honored 91 schools for academic achievement during the 2024-2025 school year. Officials presented awards at a Nevada State University ceremony for schools with five-star ratings or major improvements (including achievement pins and banners). KSNV
- ➤ Mater Academy East near Bonanza and Pecos has taken extra steps to improve school traffic safety after concerns rose about student incidents; staff now direct traffic and four crossing guards — a measure parents support — help kids cross safely. Principal Renee Fairless said the school uses staggered dismissal times and will alert Metro if heavy traffic creates problems. KSNV
