- ➤ Construction for a new pedestrian crossing on Spring Mountain Road will begin Monday to improve safety with pedestrian-activated flashing beacons and ADA curb ramps while Metro reports a nearly 13% rise in pedestrian deaths; a local shop owner worries the project may reduce customers during the holiday season — the work is expected to last at least 45 days.
