- ➤ Commissioner Tick Segerblom is exploring a mosquito abatement district to treat breeding areas in response to complaints about mosquitoes that can carry West Nile and other diseases—he noted possible funding could come from a property tax or a proposal on the 2026 ballot while Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick supported a regional plan with other local agencies. - ➤ As colder months approach, SNHD is offering COVID-19, MMRV, and influenza vaccines to help protect the community while residents update their immunizations—local officials are also seeking public input on the importance of vaccines. KSNV
- ➤ UFC GYM will offer specialized seminars and self-defense classes for National Bullying Prevention Month on Saturday, October 25—expert trainers will cover verbal, physical, and cyberbullying while teaching prevention and self-defense skills. KSNV
