- ➤ A flash flood on October 10 at the Las Vegas Renaissance Festival caused severe damage to Hammer Heim, Our Renn Land, and Banshee Reef—local organizers will hold a fundraiser for recovery at Natural 21 Gaming Lounge in Henderson on October 20 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. KSNV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ethel M Chocolates will launch its 32nd annual Holiday Cactus Garden Lights event in Henderson on November 6 at 5 p.m.—the lights will be turned on at 5:18 p.m. and admission is free on opening night while later entry costs $3 per person with half of the proceeds benefitting local charities. - ➤ The Nevada Secretary of State's office announced the launch of the 2025 Student Mock Election to boost civic education by giving students a hands-on look at the voting process. Early voting runs through Oct. 29—Election Day is set for Oct. 30. KSNV
- ➤ Maggie Newman, principal at Elaine Wynn Elementary and a dedicated teacher in the Clark County School District for over 25 years, was surprised with two F-1 Las Vegas Grand Prix tickets as a token of appreciation for her commitment to her students. The Grand Prix team announced the gift to honor her students first focus. KSNV

- ➤ Clark County is hosting several Halloween events and sharing safety tips through its Inside by 9 campaign to urge trick-or-treaters to return home by 9 p.m. Officials advise that children stay with an adult and wear reflective clothing—steps intended to keep both pedestrians and drivers safe as events run until October 31.
