  • The Las Vegas Astronomical Society is hosting a sold-out star party at Lake Mead today where local stargazers can see the Milky Way far from city lights. CRIME NEWS

  • Roy Martin Middle School is on lockdown today after officials reported a social media threat—families have been notified and police are at the scene with no further details provided yet.  KSNV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Some schools in the district face cuts after 3,600 fewer students led to a $70 million shortfall that may force support staff—such as bus drivers, campus security, and office managers—and assistant principals to seek reassignment. Affected employees will have to apply for available positions once the district finalizes its budget process.  KSNV
  • The Clark County School District is asking for community input on shifting school start times by 30 minutes for the next school year.
