ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ NV Energy said Thursday it planned to refund $32.6M to nearly 60,000 customers overcharged from misclassifying multi-family homes as single-family dwellings between 2017 and 2024+if approved by the Public Utilities Commission, active accounts will receive bill credits and former customers will get checks retroactive to June 23. The company will hire a third party to review its findings and improve its processes. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A federal judge ruled on Thursday that a class action suit on behalf of 12 special needs students and their families against CCSD and the Nevada Department of Education will move forward—lawyers say the case claims the district has not provided enough support and proper training for staff. The suit seeks immediate changes to help special needs students receive a free and appropriate public education. KSNV
