GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State officials restored the Brady Firearms Unit background check system at 8:00 a.m. Sunday after a cyber incident disrupted statewide network services. Governor Joe Lombardo said he was pleased that licensed dealers can now submit background checks electronically via the FFL Portal while phone support was also restored, though some non-portal transactions may face short delays as systems stabilize. - ➤ The Nevada DOT announced lane and ramp closures on I-15 for the South Widening Project running from September 14 to September 19. Motorists face nightly work from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.—with one-lane restrictions on southbound I-15 between Blue Diamond Rd and Starr Ave on Sunday and today and with additional lane reductions from Tuesday to Friday. - ➤ The American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter is urging Peanuts fans to donate blood and receive an exclusive mystery bag with one of four limited-edition T-shirt designs in celebration of 75 years of the comic strip.
