ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ NV Energy will open applications on September 1 for its Expanded Solar Access Program to let eligible low-income customers access solar energy at no extra cost and receive lower energy rates; applicants must prove incomes below 80 percent of the Area Median Income and apply online by October 31 (legislative changes now allow current participants to be automatically re-enrolled without yearly documentation). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two police unions representing Henderson officers say talks broke down over a pay plan meant to fix a 4.375% salary cut for the state retirement fund — union leaders argue that the offer, which reduces benefits and lower pay for new officers, will hurt recruitment.
