COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Clark County Fire Department is partnering with the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation for the 24th annual 'Fill the Fire Truck' toy drive — fire stations will host drop-offs on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Nov. 30 through Dec. 15 and donations will be accepted until Dec. 16.  Clark County

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Hawaii favorite Zippy's will open its first Henderson restaurant on Sept. 9th at 9570 S. Eastern Ave.—near Silverado Ranch Boulevard. The restaurant will serve Korean Fried Chicken and Chili Mixed Plate, is hiring for various roles, and will offer a $9.999 take-out special from Sept. 8th through Sept. 21st.  KSNV

CRIME NEWS

  • Henderson neighbors have rallied as doorbell cameras captured masked suspects breaking into cars along Buckholder Boulevard and South Racetrack Road with police investigating about 600 reported thefts this year, including a Hyundai stolen Monday around 9:30 p.m. that was abandoned after a crash captured on camera — residents hope the evidence leads to arrests.  KSNV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Clark County tapped James Chrisley as the new aviation director for Harry Reid International Airport—he has more than 30 years of experience, succeeded Rosemary Vassiliadis who retired on Sept. 12, and now leads four general aviation airports in North Las Vegas, Henderson, Jean and Overton.  KSNV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Vegas Knight Hawks will host an official IFL National Championship watch party on Saturday, August 23 at the MacKenzie River inside the America First Center—doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the game will start at 7:30 p.m. with free admission, giveaways, and a raffle offering team-signed memorabilia and a game-worn jersey.  KSNV
