- ➤ Communities In Schools of Southern Nevada will support more than 70,000 students in nearly 80 schools through the News 3 Together Sneaker Drive in partnership with Toyota—community members may donate new sneakers at Toyota dealers or online to help cover students’ need for proper footwear. - ➤ Thousands of students are set to return to Clark County schools as concerns about teacher shortages and classroom discipline remain. Superintendent Jhone Ebert said she will boost hiring through local university partnerships and enforce clear rules for resolving in-class issues—although some parents worry about prior budget cuts affecting staffing. - ➤ The Clark County School District urged parents to register their children online for the new school year using required documents such as IDs, birth certificates, immunization records, and proof of address — parents can contact their zoned school for registration support as classes start on August 11.
