ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ State officials reported that Nevada roads had 25 fatalities in July, down from 28 last year, with 222 deaths recorded statewide through July showing fewer pedestrian and non-seatbelt deaths but more motorcycle fatalities. In Clark County, 154 deaths were recorded through July, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they reached 100 deaths in their jurisdiction following a crash involving an e-bike on Saturday. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Local law enforcement officers are filling backpacks with school supplies to ease back-to-school costs in Clark County, where many students come from low-income families, and they have already filled 200 of the 1,000 backpacks planned for delivery — a move that helps families manage nearly $900 expected per-child expenses. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Clark County Division of Air Quality issued an alert for the valley until August 7 because wildfire smoke from California is expected to drift in. The advisory warns residents to limit outdoor activity as heavy smoke may worsen air quality—especially for those with respiratory conditions. KSNV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Officials in Clark County reported that 87 people died so far from the ongoing heat wave — a rise from 29 fatalities last month and a significant increase compared to more than 520 deaths last year. KSNV
