- ➤ Melinda Stender, a former CCSD art teacher, opened a new art cafe called Clay-Paper-Ink in Silverado Ranch to provide art classes including painting, clay, and jewelry making — the space also partners with local homeschooling families to offer additional creative opportunities. 8 News Now
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fatal crash occurred Monday at 7:05 p.m. when a black SUV and a white sedan collided at the intersection of Buffalo Drive and Elkhorn Road—one passenger died at the scene and two drivers were taken to a local hospital. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Nevada Department of Education said the U.S. Department of Education will soon release $12 million in funding for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers to support 21 Title I schools in the Clark County School District. After-School All-Stars, which serves several of these schools, expects programs to resume in August — funding that was previously paused. KSNV

- ➤ Commissioner Tick Segerblom met with a reporter at a county-owned vacant lot in Paradise Palms to explain community measures addressing the growing homelessness crisis. A proposed ordinance in North Las Vegas will ban homeless encampments and follow similar public safety actions in Clark County and Las Vegas — residents are encouraged to contact their elected leaders if they notice local issues.
