- ➤ The Clark County Regional Flood Control District said that Southern Nevada’s urban design and prevention efforts reduce flash flood risks compared to central Texas, where heavy rainfall caused deadly floods. The county has invested nearly $2 billion in infrastructure—such as dams, levees, and washes—to be ready for fast-moving floods. KSNV
