- ➤ The American Red Cross is urging residents to follow fireworks safety tips for Fourth of July celebrations to avoid injuries and fires. The group said that misused fireworks have caused harm in past events—advice that can help families stay safe. KSNV
- ➤ Baby’s Bounty will host diaper banks for families in need across Nevada in July. At the Henderson event on July 2nd at Morell Park—where families must bring a photo ID and parental paperwork—participants can receive a week’s supply of diapers and wipes for up to three children. KSNV
- ➤ The Animal Foundation is hosting its 'Dry Heat, Wet Noses' waived-fee adoption event today from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at its shelter on 655 N. Mojave Road near Bonanza Road to address a critical space crisis—adoptions are first-come, first-served and a $10 pet license fee may apply. KSNV

- ➤ The RTC launched its Safe Streets for ALL Action Plan on Thursday using a mapping tool called the Safer Streets Priority Network that analyzes crash data to pinpoint 32 percent of Southern Nevada’s roadways with the highest serious crashes—especially at major intersections. Residents can offer feedback through surveys and public meetings to help guide future safety upgrades. KSNV

- ➤ Intermountain Health advises Henderson residents to drink 60 to 90 ounces of water daily and avoid outdoor activity between 12 and 3 p.m. as record high temperatures sweep southern Nevada; they also suggest running air conditioners with humidifiers plus checking on elders and children to lower the risk of heat illness. 8 News Now
- ➤ Dr. David Gibson, a psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers, explained that using TMS and ketamine infusion therapy (a treatment for depression and anxiety) has produced incredible results for some patients. 8 News Now
