- ➤ Living Grace Homes, a Southern Nevada nonprofit that shelters pregnant women, is expanding its services to include mothers 25 and older and offer emergency beds at its new facility, which is set to be completed by Dec. 1—expected to help 90 more families. 8 News Now
- ➤ On May 30th, local landscaper Fernando Cesario recorded a confrontation on his way to a job site when a resident questioned his legal status based solely on his Hispanic appearance—he said he fears racial profiling is becoming common among immigrant workers. The video was later shared at a 'Know Your Rights' meeting where local leaders discussed steps to better protect immigrant communities. KSNV
- ➤ The Animal Foundation is struggling with severe overcrowding as it houses over 555 dogs and has had to use pop-up crates in hallways—further strained by the expected rise in stray animals around the Fourth of July. The shelter is asking the public for assistance to help reduce the number of animals in its care. KSNV

- ➤ Henderson SWAT officers executing a search warrant discovered the body of a man in a south valley home near Cactus+ Bermuda Road on Wednesday shortly before 7 p.m., and no one else was present at the scene. 8 News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Henderson Police Department ended its ninth Joining Forces traffic safety campaign on June 21, issuing 245 citations from 364 stops — 175 for speeding, 11 for distracted driving and 59 for other violations — funded by a $179,000 federal grant to improve road safety. KSNV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ C.J. Henly, an 18-year-old student athlete, suffered sudden cardiac arrest during English class earlier this year and was taken to St. Rose Siena Hospital in Henderson before being transferred to a hospital in Phoenix, where he spent nearly two weeks receiving life support — ECMO —. He is now recovering and looks forward to playing football at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas this fall. KSNV
