- ➤ The Fourth of July celebrations will feature fireworks shows and parades at many valley locations, including a family-friendly event at Henderson Heritage Park starting at 6 p.m. with a 9 p.m. fireworks display and the traditional Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade with over 2,500 participants. Additional festivities will be held at Caesars Palace, Station Casinos, and Lake Las Vegas—where free events and poolside parties are planned—with details still being updated for the holiday. 8 News Now
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, around 4:47 p.m., Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious accident at the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Eastern Avenue; both a motorcyclist and a vehicle driver were taken to local hospitals with injuries—traffic was redirected while investigators worked at the scene. - ➤ John Penhollow will serve as the new president of business operations for the Golden Knights and Foley Entertainment Group—covering the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas Knight Hawks, City National Arena and Lee's Family Forum. - ➤ A federal report projects that Lake Mead will drop to 1,041.64 feet by November and 11 feet further by May as water levels continue to fall, which could affect water allocations. - ➤ State Treasurer Zach Conine launched the new NEST Program today to help private sector workers without a 401(k) or pension by requiring eligible businesses+nonprofits with six or more employees to register and enroll staff unless they offer another plan.
