ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A motorcyclist from Henderson died on June 8 at 9:30 p.m. when his 2012 Honda crashed into a 2022 Honda Civic near the eastbound off-ramp at North Buffalo Drive and State Route 613 during a race with another rider—authorities said the crash remains under investigation. 8 News Now
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Roseman University announced Monday that it submitted a letter of intent to the American Veterinary Medical Association to plan a College of Veterinary Medicine at its Henderson campus. Dr. Katherine Fogelberg will serve as founding dean—bringing local veterinary expertise as the university begins consulting with professionals—to help meet the growing need for care in Nevada. KSNV

- ➤ Attorney General Aaron Ford said Nevada will get about $58M from a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family over opioid issues—this money will fund treatment, prevention, and recovery programs and be distributed over 15 years. KSNV

- ➤ Today, as summer heat rises, pet owner Jessica Enders of Hounds Town USA in Henderson urged pet owners to keep their animals safe by providing water and shade and avoiding hot walks—she said that signs like excess panting, drooling or lethargy warn that pets are overheating. KSNV

- ➤ Forward Jack Eichel will represent the US and the Golden Knights at the Winter Olympics next year in Milano Cortina — his first Olympic appearance as USA Hockey named him to the preliminary roster along with five other players. NHL players will compete for the first time since 2014. KSNV
