Good morning, Henderson.

On Sunday afternoon, the Henderson Fire Department quickly contained a fire at a maintenance shed on the 1300 block of Stellato Street—no injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

The Nevada Legislature unanimously passed Assembly Bill 503 to increase penalties for copper wire theft, with thieves facing misdemeanors for thefts under $500 and felonies for higher amounts with up to four years in prison—Governor Lombardo must sign the bill so that the tougher rules take effect on October 1. Local business owners supported the measure after their properties were targeted and nearly 1 million feet of streetlight wiring have been reported stolen since 2022.
