COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Lake Las Vegas will host its annual Fourth of July fireworks show at 9 p.m. on July 4 over its 320-acre lake—Henderson will also hold a free display at Heritage Park on the same night. KSNV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Henderson police responded late Friday night to a fight at Cowabunga Bay (900 block of Galleria Drive) that turned into a shooting and resulted in one person being taken to a hospital and one man being detained (a suspect remains outstanding). KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the City of Henderson was named a finalist for the 2025 Gold Medal Award for park and recreation services. The award—given by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association—recognizes the city's strong planning and resource management of its 74 parks and over 300 miles of trails. - ➤ Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley declared June 14 as Southern Nevada Pride Fest Day to honor the 5th annual festival hosted by the Henderson Equality Center & to promote equality in our community. The free event will take place at Sunset Park in Las Vegas from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. KSNV
- ➤ Governor Joe Lombardo signed the new Nevada State University specialty license plate on Friday. The plate — with a black background trimmed in signature gold and the Scorpion mascot — will be available for order from the Nevada DMV this fall to fund new athletics and student food programs. 8 News Now
