- ➤ Nevada lawmakers approved AB 398 with near-unanimous support—allocating $38 million over the next two years for charter school teacher raises and $5,000 bonuses for Title 1 and special education teachers. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nevada lawmakers approved a bill that lets universities pay student-athletes by removing the ban on direct payments. UNLV and UNR sports officials say the change will help schools share revenue from media rights, sponsorship and ticket sales. KSNV
- ➤ State officials announced today that Gov. Lombardo’s scaled-back housing act will use $133 million to help about 5,000 households—down from an original plan to assist 16,000 households. The funds will be allocated as $83 million for attainable housing development, $25 million for home ownership assistance, and $25 million for development incentives. 8 News Now
- ➤ Congresswoman Susie Lee visited Meals on Wheels client Mae Courson, a blind elderly woman who depends on the service, as concerns rise over a House reconciliation bill that cut SNAP funding.
