- ➤ Henderson Libraries is hosting an adult writing contest for local residents; contest details on themes, registration, and deadlines will be available soon (check the library website for updates). KSNV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Reconstruction has begun on the popular Mt. Charleston hiking trail that was wiped out nearly three years ago by a major storm, and work continues to restore the trail for hikers. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Heavy traffic along I-15 near the state line was reported over Memorial Day as many drivers left Vegas. Crews are addressing final tasks on Project Neon— and ramp closures at the Spaghetti Bowl will begin Monday, Sept. 16 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three nights. KSNV

- ➤ Stan Stolte, UNLV baseball head coach, retired after more than a decade guiding the Hustlin' Rebels; he finished with a 278-271 record and a Mountain West championship in 2022 (he said changes in college athletics led to his decision). KSNV
