- ➤ A Clark County woman filed a lawsuit on May 20 in District Court after a McDonald's drive-thru error in Henderson caused her hot coffee to spill on her lap and severely burn her—she is seeking more than $15,000 in damages. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Nevada Department of Transportation announced lane closures on I-15 for the ongoing widening project that will affect northbound travel between Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road starting Tuesday, May 27 until July—other nighttime restrictions will reduce lanes on both directions. Drivers are advised to plan extra travel time and choose alternate routes as NDOT conducts guardrail repairs, excavation, and paving work. KSNV
- ➤ Governor Joe Lombardo vetoed Assembly Bill 306 because it did not offer enough oversight for new mail ballot drop box locations — he said the proposal fell short of its goals in a letter to Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager. Local critics from the Let Nevadans Vote Coalition argued the veto restricts voting access — warning it could limit options for marginalized voters. KSNV
