  • Unemployment in the Las Vegas metro area dropped from 5.6% in March to 5.2% in April — Henderson’s rate fell to 5.0% and 5,139 fewer people were jobless, according to the Nevada Department of Employment report. This drop reflects expected seasonal trends after holiday slowdowns.  8 News Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Water levels at Lake Mead and Lake Powell are expected to drop to near-record lows this summer as the 25-year drought continues to strain the Colorado River system—forcing reduced water intake for states including Nevada.
