ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Chevrolet Silverado towing a boat crashed into a Honda Odyssey on May 4 along I-15 near Moapa Valley—leaving two children dead—and Steven Woods from Hurricane was arrested and is set for a May 21 court hearing. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada is launching an investigation into NV Energy for alleged rate misclassifications after documents show that nearly 60,000 customers were overcharged over $17 million since 2001, with 20,000 multi-family accounts also impacted. NV Energy said it issued refunds capped at six months — totaling less than $2 million — and will review the process through the regulatory system. 8 News Now

- ➤ University Medical Center is the only hospital in Nevada with a transplant program and plans to add liver transplants as its kidney transplant numbers have grown from 48 to 188 since COVID. More than 700 Nevadans are on the waitlist & experts note that while the state donates more organs per person than anywhere else, most organs leave Nevada because of limited services. KSNV
