- ➤ Developers announced plans for The Cliff at Green Valley Ranch, a new $38M retail and entertainment complex that will convert two office buildings on Paseo Verde Parkway into a center with 25 retail spaces, a 26,000-square-foot dining lounge, meeting spaces and public art installations. The project will be reviewed by the Planning Commission on May 15 — ahead of City Council consideration, with construction set to begin in October and finish next year — if officials approve it. KSNV

- ➤ A local family mourned 23-year-old Joree Odabi, who was struck and killed on May 6 along Warm Springs Road by suspected DUI driver Daniel Stakleff after video showed his car hitting him plus colliding with a light pole, and the family is urging lawmakers to impose harsher penalties for DUI offenses. - ➤ Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo warned on Thursday that he would veto any education budget proposal lacking permanent pay-raises for charter school teachers. His office claimed lawmakers removed his proposed pay-raises and stressed that the budget must ensure accountability and parental choice. KSNV

- ➤ Vegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy received a hearing Friday night for a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct—he was penalized for cross-checking Edmonton’s Trent Frederic during overtime of Game 2. Oilers forward Viktor Arvidsson did not receive a hearing after he appeared to trip defenseman Brayden McNabb, who left the game after crashing into the boards. KSNV
- ➤ The Raiders signed top draft pick Ashton Jeanty to a four-year rookie contract — fully guaranteed at $35.9 million with a fifth-year option — on April 24.
