- ➤ Cowabunga Bay Waterpark in Henderson will begin weekend operations on Saturday, April 19—offering over 25 water attractions including towering slides, a giant wave pool and a lazy river—and daily service will start on Friday, May 23. Pink’s Hot Dogs will provide its iconic creations at the park. KSNV
- ➤ The Animal Foundation will host a free Pet Wellness Fair to provide key veterinary services — free microchips, vaccinations, and pet food and supplies — at its campus on 655 N. Mojave Road on Tuesday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. No appointment is needed and services will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. KSNV

- ➤ IKEA announced plans on Thursday to open a new Plan & Order Point with Pick-up store in Henderson at Whitney Ranch Shopping Center. The 2,900 square feet space will open in the fall and let customers schedule delivery and get help with planning home furnishing designs. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Sloan Canyon Wind Ensemble from Pinecrest Academy in Henderson will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York tomorrow. The 48 student musicians — the only group from Nevada invited this year — earned the spot through a competitive audition process. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sen. Jacky Rosen and Rep. Dina Titus reintroduced the BUMP Act (Banning Unlawful Machinegun Parts) in Congress to ban bump stocks after a Supreme Court ruling overturned the previous ban. The lawmakers said the measure would help prevent tragedies like the mass shooting in 2017. KSNV
