- ➤ Puka's Treats, a Las Vegas family business, will donate half its proceeds from March and April events to support recovery efforts in Hawaii after North Shore flooding. Its event will take place at Bruce Trent Park (1600 North Rampart Blvd) Saturday, March 28 during 702 Events' Small Business Weekend. KSNV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Nevada have passed $5 as more than 85% of fuel comes from California, prompting Gov. Lombardo to send a letter on March 9 to Gov. Newsom regarding proposed emissions changes that may worsen prices—experts say Nevada must diversify its supply. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Clark County School District honored over 800 educators including teachers, specialists, support staff and administrators at its Evening of Excellence event + the celebration recognized their service and commitment to local education. KSNV
- ➤ Students may apply for late open enrollment due by Friday, Aug. 21 at 3 pm to attend non-zoned public schools with space per Assembly Bill 533’s new program. CCSD will host a school choice fair at Silverado High on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. KSNV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Nevada Children's Heart Foundation will host the Walk with the Heart of a Child event on Saturday, Mar. 28 at Craig Ranch Regional Park to raise funds for children with congenital heart defects. Registration costs $25 for adults and $15 for others, available online and on site. KSNV
