ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Since August, 303 students were hit going to and from school, nearly half on electric bikes or scooters. The county will double fines and add enforcement in school zones as a traffic working group plans safety recommendations by late April or early May. KSNV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Clark County is hosting Nevada’s largest free job fair today (Friday, March 13) where job seekers can meet local employers and explore new work opportunities. KSNV
- ➤ Gas prices in the area remain above national levels as global oil supply challenges and California regulations drive up costs, forcing local drivers to make tough choices at the pump. Analysts predict the trend may continue as the region struggles to secure an affordable fuel supply. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Clark County School District, Henderson and AmeriCorps provided free helmets and bike lights on Thursday at Mannion Middle School to support student safety during the morning commute. CCSD police also encouraged students to wear head protection in line with city law. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clark County School District Police Chief Henry 'Mike' Blackeye will retire at the end of the 2025-26 school year after more than 23 years with the district. The district will name an interim police chief soon — a national search for his replacement is planned. KSNV
