BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Spirit Airlines ended service on routes from Harry Reid International in 2025 by cutting flights to Albuquerque+Portland+Sacramento+San Diego as it focuses on markets near its Florida headquarters. Airline experts say further cuts may come, giving other carriers a chance to increase service. KSNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The school district removed the stop-arm camera contract from Thursday night’s board agenda — leaving plans for the program uncertain as Verra Mobility said the decision risks the safety of children during bus loading times. KSNV
- ➤ The CCSD board pulled a scheduled vote on a contract to equip school buses with stop-arm cameras thanks to new state laws. Superintendent Jhone Ebert said (operational and administrative challenges emerged) leaving the program’s future uncertain. KSNV
- ➤ A judge extended a restraining order filed on Feb. 15 that stops SNWA from removing nonfunctional turf for select homeowners until the next hearing on March 31 (it does not affect removal elsewhere) as local residents voice concerns over park and tree health near Wingbrook Park. KSNV
- ➤ The RTC is testing temporary roadway changes such as speed tables and protected bike lanes across the valley in response to 7,000 local survey responses. The agency said the tests will occur in the coming months to determine if these safety improvements should be made permanent. KSNV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is recalling Great Value cottage cheese sold between Feb. 17 and Feb. 20 because liquid dairy ingredients may not have been fully pasteurized. Residents who bought the product at Walmart stores in Nevada and other states should return it for a full refund; no illnesses have been reported. KSNV

- ➤ Sansone Companies broke ground today on Centurion Mixed Use, a 24-acre project near Inspirada Station that will bring 600 apartments + over 80,000 sqft of retail space. The development is set to finish in three phases over the next five to seven years. KSNV
