- ➤ Clark County commissioners recognized Boy Scout Troop 407 for becoming the first troop in Nevada to have all its members earn Eagle Scout status Tuesday. Eight scouts present received a proclamation and a key to the Las Vegas Strip for the historic milestone. KSNV

- ➤ Smith's Food and Drug will open a new $23 million grocery store at 560 N. Stephanie St. in the bustling Galleria Commons this Saturday, Jan. 24; the ribbon-cutting starts at 8 a.m. and the first 400 customers will receive gift bags + a gift card. KSNV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Clark County School District announced that school start times will change this fall to 8:30 a.m. for high schools, 7:30 a.m. for middle schools, and 9:15 a.m. for elementary schools. Some families and officials worry the new schedule may affect work routines + are exploring additional support programs. KSNV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Southern Nevada Water Authority has allocated $500K to Nevada Plants to plant over 9,000 drip-irrigated trees across the valley to expand the tree canopy by 3.5 million sqft and conserve water, following a successful 2023 project. KSNV

- ➤ The WNBA has unveiled the Aces’ 2026 schedule amid unsettled labor talks, and the defending champion will play 44 games — 19 home games at Michelob ULTRA Arena and three at T-Mobile Arena — with a Finals rematch opener against Phoenix on Sat, May 9. KSNV
