ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A deadly fire at Whitney Mesa yesterday led to the evacuation of about 50 homes and prompted Fire Chief Scott Vivier to share tips on updating smoke alarms and preparing an emergency bag after the blaze damaged one home and nearby landscaping. KSNV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ethel M Chocolates will host its 12th annual Lights of Love display at the Cactus Garden in Henderson starting Friday, Feb. 6, running nightly until Monday, Feb. 16 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with entry at $3 and half the proceeds benefiting local food banks. KSNV

- ➤ A groundbreaking ceremony kicked off construction of the Nevada State Veterans Memorial at Thunderbird Family Sports Complex (designed to honor veterans), with plans to create a lasting tribute for local heroes. KSNV

- ➤ UNLV Rebels announced a two game series with Memphis Tigers that opens with a home game on Saturday, Aug. 29 at Allegiant Stadium; the Tigers will host the Rebels on Sept. 15, 2029, filling out UNLV’s nonconference slate for 2026. KSNV
